The rate at which kidnapping is increasing in Nigeria today is alarming. For the past six years, no single month has passed without a case of kidnapping. This is high in the Eastern part of Nigeria.
Dorothy kidnapping a baby at Nnewi hospital

On January 30th, 2019, a thirty Five years woman boldly made her way into Teaching Hospital Nnewi. Her mission was clear. She simply kidnapp a five day old twin baby boy.
Moreover, the woman kidnapper was identified as Dorothy Sunday. Nevertheless, she has been arrested by the Detectives of the Central Police Station, Nnewi, Anambra State, Nigeria.
Dorothy Sunday sneaked into the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching hospital and kidnapped a 5 day old baby. This happened at exactly 5pm on January 30th, at the maternity ward of the hospital.
The mother of the twin baby stepped out to do a minor laundry when the incident occurred. She was just an inch away from her babies. The baby’s mother was identified as 22 years old Mmadu Happiness Miracle.

Miracle is a native of Uruagu, Nnewi, in Anambra State. She had a set of twins at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital Nnewi five days earlier.
However, luck ran out of Dorothy when nurses at the hospital gate saw her going out with a baby. The nurse became suspicious and raised alarm which led to Dorothy’s arrest.
Above all, a statement from the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Haruna Mohammed said.
“The suspect sneaked into the Nnamdi Azikwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi at about 5pm yesterday January 30th. She stole a five day old twin baby boy at the maternity ward of the hospital. The mother of the baby is 22 years old Mmadu Happiness Miracle of Uruagu, Nnewi. Miracle went to the hospital compound to wash her clothes.
Meanwhile, the kidnapped baby had been handed over to the mother in good condition. Most importantly, the case is under investigation after which suspect would be charged to court for prosecution”.
In a related development, a woman identified as Glory boldly kidnapped a baby at Army Barracks Obirinze Imo State.
Kidnapping
She was apprehended immediately and given the beaten of her life. This very kidnapping incident occurred in December 2018.
