SHIP SAILING FROM NIGERIA TO CAMEROON SINKS

A ship going to Cameroon from Calabar, Cross River State had sank in the middle of the ocean.

The ship with name Austrheim was conveying many Nigerians and Cameroonians to Cameroon when the sad incident occurred.

This incident occurred on Sunday, 27th of August 2019.

Nevertheless, majority of the people in the ill-fated ship were families going back for school resumption in Cameroon.

Moreover, women and children made up 60% of the victims.

Goods worth millions of naira were lost in the incident.

Rescuers attribute the mishap to overload. It was alleged that the ship was carrying heavy loads more than what it is meant to carry.

No manifest has been brought out to ascertain the identity of the individual.

However, non of the victims was reportedly saved as at the time of this information.
