DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: WOMAN COMMITTED SUICIDE

A Kanyama woman has committed suicide in Chirundu over domestic violence.

The 22 years old woman identified as Agnes Sichula was from Lusaka’s Kanyama compound.

She has committed suicide by taking poison due to domestic violence.

Agnes Sichula picked up a quarrel with her husband Patrick Banda aged 25 yesterday (in the morning). And when the husband left for piece works, [she] Agnes called her aunt telling her to look after her child for she had few minutes to live on earth.

Immediately after talking to her aunt, she took a poison. After taking the poison, she boarded a bus to Chirundu.

Upon arrival at the station, she collapsed and died on the spot. Her body was deposited at Mtendere Mission Hospital waiting for postmortem.

Meanwhile, the husband made a follow up to Chirundu but unfortunately he received the sad news while he was still in Kafue.

Agnes Sichula committed suicide because the husband had no decent job. And the husband was not able to meet her needs, the Zambia Eagle reports.
