Abia state commissioner of police, Ene Okon has said that the police officer who killed a youth in Ohafia last week was drunk.
A young businessman, Ifeanyi Arunsi, was killed at Ebem Ohafia, Abia state of Nigeria by a trigger happy police officer identified as Kinsley Oduogu.
As a result of the incident, youths of the area burnt the police station, DPO’s residence, magistrate court and police quarters.

According to some youths, it is neither the first time nor the second time callous police officers killed a youth in the area.
The policeman, Kinsley Oduogu was in the company of two of his colleagues when they hit a vehicle offloading beverages in the area.
Consequently, an argument ensued. And in the ensuing argument, Kinsley Oduogu went for his gun and shot Ifeanyi Arunsi.
Ifeanyi later died while receiving medical attention at the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia.
YOUTHS ANGERED BY IFEANYI’S DEATH
As soon as news of Ifeanyi’s death filtered in, youths of Ebem Ohafia took to the streets. They burnt the Ebem Ohafia police station, the DPO’s residence, Magistrate court and police quarters.
POLICE OFFICER WHO KILLED IFEANYI ARUNSI WAS NOT ON DUTY
According to the commissioner of opolice Ene Okon, the Policemen who killed Ifeanyi were neither on duty nor on COVID 19 preventive assignment.
Rather, they went out with a private car belonging to one of them to a drinking joint.
They got drunk at the joint and hit a truck off-loading goods.
Mr Ene Okon, confirmed that the killer policeman acted under the influence of alcohol when he committed the crime.
