Police in Benue state have arrested Jeremiah Nnamdi, a student of the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi over the alleged killing of an associate Professor at the institution Karl Kwaghger.
Professor Karl Kwaghger was killed on 28th November 2020 at the Tarka Foundation Gboko where he had gone for relaxation.
According to the suspect Nnamdi who was arrested while trying to sell the Professor’s car in Abuja,
“I threatened the lecturer with a toy gun but stabbed him when he resisted the attempted robbery”.
Nnamdi brutally stabbed him on his neck and ribs. The University Don was rushed to Bishop Murray Hospital where he died.

Engr. Prof. Karl was a Lecturer in Mechanical engineering department University of Agriculture Makurdi.
The command’s spokesperson, DSP Catherine Anene, in a statement on Saturday, December 5th, said the university don was killed on November 28 at the Tarka Foundation, Gboko, where he had gone for relaxation.
The suspect, who hails from Imo State was arrested in Abuja while trying to sell a car belonging to the deceased.
According to the police,
“The suspect confessed to the crime and further stated that his initial intention was to threaten the victim with a make-believe gun and rob the deceased of his car”.
“But he ended up killing him because of his resistance and took the car away”
