An unexploded World War II bomb has disrupted railway activities to and from Paris’ very busy Gare du Nord train station.
Officials said Friday that the bomb was found “in the middle of the tracks”, 2.5 km (1.55 miles) from the train station, in the Saint Denis area.

Paris suburban rail company wrote on X (former Twitter) that the dangerous explosive was from the World War II era.
All train traffic to the station was halted. All activities were stopped as the local police worked to disable the dangerous unexploded World War II bomb.
Gare du Nord station lies north of Paris and is the busiest train terminal in Paris.
Meanwhile, the railway station is hosting Eurostar trains as well as high-speed and local trains.
Nevertheless, the Eurostar’s website showed that at least four trains scheduled to depart from the station same day were canceled and advised travelers to reschedule their trips.
“Due to a dangerous object on the tracks near Paris Gare du Nord, we are expecting disruption to our services this morning,” Eurostar said in a statement, “Please change your journey for a different date of travel.”

It should be noted that an estimated 700,000 people travel through the Gare du Nord station each daily.
However, the discovery severed Paris’ high-speed rail links with London and Brussels on Friday.
