At the wee hours of today, Iran fires series of missile attacks on US facilities in northern Iraq. This include the Ain al-Asad military base where US troops are stationed.
However, this is coming less than a week after United States killed Qassem Soleimani, one of Iran’s top generals.
The Iranian state television has said that the Revolutionary Guard had attacked Ain al-Asad airbase. And Iran is threatening “more crushing responses” if the US launched any fresh attacks following the Iran’s action.
Also in another statement, Iran has warned all US allies in its region to expect attack if they allow their countries to be used for attacking them.
Nevertheless, the rocket strikes is coming less than a week after the US attack on Soleimani.
Soleimani was killed near Baghdad’s international airport. He was killed with Iraqi paramilitary commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and several others.
DONALD TRUMP BRIEFED
Back in United States, the Pentagon confirmed more than a dozen rockets had been launched against US military and coalition forces in Iraq.
And it confirmed that iran fires missiles at USA troop in Iran.
Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Hoffman stated thus:
Interestingly, there was no immediate reports of casualties.
Moreover, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Defense Secretary Mark Esper arrived at the White House late on Tuesday.

An official said President Donald Trump had been briefed on the attacks and Trump is monitoring the situation closely.
However Reportngr.com gathered that dozens of people were killed in stampede at Quassem Soleimani’s burial.
