Not less than 18 persons have been confirmed dead in Lagos State of Nigeria following an oil pipeline explosion.
More than 50 houses have also been destroyed in the “unclear” Lagos oil pipeline explosion.
Nevertheless, the fire mishap damaged a bank in the area.
However, security agencies are investigating the situation which is believed was triggered by a woman allegedly cooking close to a factory housing combustible items.
But some believe that the incident could be a bomb attack on the community by terrorists.
Meanwhile, a family have been identified as those confirmed dead.
The family comprising of a couple and three of their children were on their way to church at the time of the incident.
Regrettably, they were caught in the fire caused by the explosion while driving in their vehicle.
Also, a boarding school around the area, Bethlehem Girls College, has evacuated all pupils and staff.
Residents of Abule Ado, the area of the mishap are trying to move whatever they can from their houses as the fire keeps spreading.
Youths were seen running halter skelter rescuing anything rescueable.
