There is serious jubilation and call for support from Afghanistan citizens as a group of Anti Taliban has emerged to retrieve the country from Talibans. The Afghanistan’s last anti-Taliban group has vowed to continue fighting.

The fights are being led by Ahmed Massoud, the leader of Afghanistan’s last major outpost of anti-Taliban resistance trained in northeast Afghanistan, as they vowed to push back against the Taliban.

This became necessary as the Taliban group seized control of Kabul, and coming as the United States is pressed to extend its military presence so that a massive evacuation of civilians can be completed.

According to The Geo Lines Anti-Taliban fighters from the National Resistance Front fired guns, installed heavy artillery and strengthened military training, preparing to defend the Panjshir Valley from Taliban forces. NRF stated that it is ready to fight, but may not have enough resources to resist the long-term siege of the Taliban without external help.

Al Jazeera English said that “the removal of Afghanistan’s flag has triggered protests in at least two Afghan cities, with at least three people killed in the eastern city of Jalalabad during an anti-Taliban protest. Here’s how the Afghan flag has been changed over the past 100 years”.

According to the Quint, “Supporting Massoud is now the only way to ensure that the future of Afghanistan is one decided by the Afghan people. It is also the only way to ensure India does not have another perennial enemy at striking proximity,”
